Blessings and good day:
Thanksgiving is around the corner, and even though it is not celebrated officially in Panama, many hail it as a family; we are one of those. We have so much to be thankful for, here we share one of those:
This past week we were invited to Cañazas to train a church that started during the closedown (2 yrs almost). The story goes like this. Pastor Cristobal, who is half Ecuadorian and half Panamanian, while living in the states, encouraged his pastor to come to Panama and start planting churches, so he did. He came in early 2000. While visiting Cañazas, where he has a piece of land and at that time had various projects underway to impact the community with the Gospel, he decided to stay during the lockdown and start helping the kids with school assignments. Today the Lord has blessed them with a small school that allows the kids in the community with connection, assistance with school chores, and provides meals. He built his home and, together with his family has started a church in the area.
On Nov 12-13, our Lord allowed the training of 15 leaders with pastors and youth. The group was divided into four groups and went out for one hour. The results were that 4 Person of Peace were open to receive further visits and studies and visited 22 homes where 3 opened their hearts to Jesus. Only two homes refused to be prayed for. The teams could come out of their comfort zone to share the Good News using the 3 circles. After the practice, we met to see the results and what pearls each team took away from this experience. A further visit is being programmed to follow up with the work and reinforce the training.
Praise the Lord for this, allowing us to see His love and faithfulness with this ministry. Pastor Cristobal reminded me of when our home was filled with young people willing to be discipled.
